Visit the Broome County Office for Aging website and you will see their mission statement at the top of the page: Improving and Enriching the Quality of Life for All Older Persons in Broome County.
It has been our privilege to assist their office in this mission. Our group messaging platform has enabled communications in their clients’ preferred medium of text messages, emails or voice calls in many languages. This has enabled the organization to inform their older adult community about services and events more efficiently and inclusively while saving time for their busy staff. Our platform not only helps them send emergency broadcasts and other essential alerts to the aging in place; it also brings the community together for recreational events. We were excited to hear about the success of their recent holiday gatherings.
Over the winter holiday season the Office for Aging used Blooming Health’s platform to remind the community about parties at their senior centers across town. The ability to easily message large groups of people resulted in Broome County’s strongest turnout to these gatherings in years, as 746 meals were served to guests at these events!
Compared to 2022, 517 meals were served. In 2019, before Blooming Health was involved, 452 meals were served at this event. This represents a 65% increase in attendance since implementing our platform!
We are thrilled our platform was used successfully to bring the community together over the holidays. Building inclusive communities is at the heart of what we do.
